International Service Learning Program Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta (UTY) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) part 2 written by Irfan Suryana

Gunungkidul, 7 November 2015
Starting with exercise we continued to walk around the village. It was about two hours.  We met villagers including kids who would go to school. Moreover when we passed school  some students waved to us and said hallo as well. We were so happy because we always took photo and we enjoyed every time. We were introduced with each home that is stayed by participants of International Service and Learning  Program. The environment of the village is about to be similar to my village in Ciamis. After it finished we went back home and took a bath. At 13.00 All the participants went to the hall in order to socialize the program to the villagers. There, the committee asked me to share my experience regarding the village and relationship between Indonesian student and Malaysian student. To be frank, I was a little shy but I just kept moving forward and told everything that I knew. :D I began with thanking to the villagers and I also said that Malaysian language, Malay, is very unique that makes me interested and I definitely want to go there. In the afternoon some roommates of mine bought meatball but I did not because I had to finish in order to cover book that would be rendered to the villagers. In the night, we all got along in the hall in order to join inspirational talk about education. I was a little surprise because the speakers turned out Mas Sigit and Mas Firman, they both were excellent student and they were amazing as well. They were with my friends from ESA (Excellent Student Association) organization such as Danti, Shinta, and so forth. I cried due to something that was hard to be said. Let me and God know my matter. I admitted that I was nothing and I was not somebody but there was no reason people could hurt me because we were one as human, same religion, and so on. I remembered that to err is human, to forgive divine. Let bygones be bygones. Today I would be more spirit. I just want to make my mom smile at me. No matter what cruel people treat me and no matter how people insult me the point is I have been realizing that I hold my destiny and all things depend on  me ALONE.
That night was my second night I slept with my roommate. He was so kind because he warned me to take a rest awhile and advised me to continue my dactylogram tomorrow. Perhaps, that is all for my memorable note and I  would to continue my experience about International Service and Learning Program tomorrow. Bye.
