7 Different Ways to Say "How are you?"

This moment, I would like to share regarding 7 different ways to say "How are you?". When we want to know someone's condition or when we meet someone we know, we usually say "How are you?. Actually, there are several ways that can be alternative for saying "How are you?". The followings are 7 different ways to say "How are you?" that I collected from any sources.

1. How are you?

"How are you?" is regarded as the most English basic phrases that can be employed in any context. We can use it to our family, friends, boss, teachers, and so forth. If we are asked "How are you?", we usually respond it by saying "I'm fine, thanks, and you?" or "Good, thanks, and you?".

2. How's it going?

"How's it going?" is deemed as a bit more informal than "How are you?". It can be utilized to our seniors too, such as our boss. If we are asked "How's it going?", we can respond it by saying "Good, thanks" or "Not bad".

3. How's everything? or How are things?

This is another way to say "How are you?" to someone we know. It can be asked to our colleague too. If we are asked "How's everything?" or "How are things?", we can respond it by saying "All good, thanks" or "Everything's going good".

4. What's been going on?

Also, this is another way to say "How are you?". The purpose of this question is to know a bit regarding someone's life and what has happened since we last met him.

5. Are you well?

"Are you well?" is considered as a formal way to say "How are you?". If we are asked "Are you well?", We can simply respond it by saying "Yes, I'm very well, thanks".

6. How are you keeping?

"How are you keeping?" is regarded as an old fashioned to say "How are you?" and this is more British than American too.

7. What's up?

"What's up?" is deemed as an informal way to say "How are you?". It can be used to our friends or our close colleague. If we are asked "What's up?", we can respond it by saying "What's up?", "Not much", "Nothing", and "Nothing much, you?".
